The River
Broad, dark, and always moving. It does not freeze, though Hudson City stopped agreeing on why a long time ago.

A HUDSON CITY NOVEL
The river never freezes.
Hudson City stopped asking why.
Two private women arrive after midnight and open a small apothecary. By morning, the town is already watching—and the river is carrying a color no sunset can explain.
A SPOILER-FREE LOOK INSIDE THE WORLD
ENTER HUDSON CITY
Hudson City is a fictional old mill town in the Catskill and Hudson Valley region of Upstate New York. It has survived floods, fires, vanished industries, and generations of secrets without losing the habits that hold a small town together.
Storefronts still open each morning. Saws still run near the water. Porch lights burn through the fog. Then Sera and Nyala Duval arrive, and something in the air changes before anyone can name it.

Medicine, bitter tea, dried botanicals, and a promise that no customer should leave feeling smaller than when they entered.
Broad, dark, and always moving. It does not freeze, though Hudson City stopped agreeing on why a long time ago.
A quiet street of old brick, wet pavement, and watchful windows. Sera and Nyala live in a separate house here, about two hundred yards from the apothecary on Alder Road.
Saws start early near the water. Timber, receipts, repairs, and family history keep the yard tied to nearly every part of town.
The town's gathering place when music is playing and the weather is turning. In Hudson City, celebration and danger rarely arrive far apart.
PEOPLE YOU WILL MEET
Hudson City notices newcomers, but it judges people through what they repair, what they protect, and which questions they choose not to ask.
Owner · Duval Apothecary
The new pharmacist on Alder Road. Sera is exact with medicine, patient with people, and careful about every question she answers.
Sera's daughter · Apothecary assistant
Twenty-two, quiet, and almost unnervingly observant. Hudson City offers Nyala something both simple and dangerous: an ordinary life of her own choosing.
Ward family · Lumberyard worker
Twenty-four and rooted in the town. Micah knows timber, joinery, and repair—and does not force an answer simply because he senses one is being withheld.

ALDER ROAD · BLUE HOUR
“Every town keeps secrets.
The river remembers all of them.”
THE SOUND OF CRIMSON RIVER
ORIGINAL CRIMSON RIVER THEME
A companion to the book's quiet pull: longing, restraint, and the feeling that something has already noticed you from the other side of the fog.
ADDITIONAL MUSIC
Ten more tracks from the world of Crimson River, including the separate album version of “Is It You.”
